LCSW
Lisa Halligan-Heckathorn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Central Connecticut State University and her Master of Social Work from Youngstown State University. Lisa has experience supporting adolescents (high school age) and adults in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
Lisa believes effective therapy is grounded in collaboration. As she shares, “I believe that the best way to make a therapeutic relationship work is collaboration—if a client tells me something isn’t working, then we try something else. Everything is what is best for them and their needs.”
Her approach draws from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Client-Centered Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Strength-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and behavioral strategies.
Lisa strives to create a supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and respected. She has experience working with concerns such as addiction, anger, anxiety, grief/loss, life stressors, trauma, LGBTQ issues, and mood disorders.
Lisa is available in our Howland, Ohio office.
