Adrianna Lamonge
Social Work Intern
Hello! I am Adrianna Lamonge, and I am a social work intern here at Preferred Care Counseling. I am currently working on my MSW at Cleveland State University and have my BA and MA in English from YSU, which I have used as an educator for several years. I am a licensed teacher in the state of Ohio and currently teach 6th grade English, although I have experience at the secondary and post-secondary levels as well.Â
I am very passionate about the connection between mental health and literacy, and I use both my MA and emerging MSW skills to serve my clients in clinical practice, where I am especially interested in using literature as a therapeutic tool. I am experienced in working with adolescents and young adults as a teacher, and I am eager to further develop my clinical skills to help young people. Additionally, I myself was once an at-risk teen, and I bring my own lived experiences to my practice, with a special place in my heart for kids in need of extra support.Â
When I am not in the office or the classroom, I spend a lot of my time at home with my family. Becoming a mother recently has also inspired me to help new moms navigate the challenges of early motherhood, where I hope to help women balance their personal identities with their roles as mothers.
I love to read, write poetry, practice yoga, thrift, drink coffee, and spend time in nature. I look forward to calling Preferred Care home and am grateful for the opportunity to provide quality care to my community.Â
